Right before their concert in Cologne, we had the chance to do a short interview with The Fool! ! !

First of all, we would like to thank Frank and Lauriane for making this interview possible and of course Tena, our lovely translator! ♥

It was a lot of fun and the guys were real nice, so please have a look at our interview!

Gunji: What website is the interview for?

Q: Our website is called „Shosen Ningen“, it’s a German website about Japanese music. It’s still very new and this is my very first interview so I’m pretty nervous!

Gunji: (laughs) Oh, don’t be nervous!

Q: So, could you please introduces yourselves and tell us which instrument you play?

Gunji: Hi, I’m Gunji, vocalist of “The Fool”. Nice to meet you!

Taka: I’m Taka, the guitarist of “The Fool”, pleased to meet you!

Goo: I’m Goo, also playing the guitar in “The Fool”, hi!

Q: This not your first time in Germany, so is there something you particularly like or don’t like about Germany?

Gunji: It’s the third time we’re in Germany and since it’s been the first European country we visited it’ll always remain a very special memory for us. Well, if you ask me what I like… I like pretty girls, so you know any? (laughs)

Taka: I like the German fans, and I’m really glad to be able play some live shows here, I guess that’s what I like most about Germany!

Goo: Yep, me too.

Q: You recently released your new album “Do the Fool”. In some songs, it seems that your music has become more instrument- laden. How comes?

Taka: In this album, we have experimented with different styles and we’ve also worked with new and more valuable equipment, so that’s probably why.

Q: The lyrics in your first album are partially pretty distinct, how about the new album? Do you have some kind of master plan or do you want each song to be seen individually?

Gunji: (needs a little time to think) No, we don’t really have a master plan, I think. There’s no clear motive, but I would like to unite the past of “The Fool” with the current “The Fool, that’s my concept for the future.

Q: Most of your songs are very upbeat, is it important for you to make people happy with your music?

Gunji: Our music is definitely upbeat, but our lyrics are not necessarily always cheerful. But it’s absolutely important for us to make people happy.

Q: Gunji, you’ve played the guitar in your previous bands and now you “only” sing. Do you miss playing the guitar on stage?

Gunji: No, I play the guitar every day, so I don’t really miss it.

Q: Have you ever thought about getting a drummer and a bassist as permanent band members?

Gunji: No, we don’t need a bassist or a drummer since the three of us work great as a team. We have a drummer and a bassist as support members, but for us as a band, teamwork is most important. So we don’t really want new members in the band.

Q: What are your plans when you’re back in Japan?

Goo: We have plans to tour Europe again next year, so there is a lot to prepare and we’re also gonna do some recording.

Gunji: Yeah, that is if Râmen Events wants to bring us to Europe again ^_^!

Q: Okay, since we’re running out of time, one very last question. What’s your favourite song from “Do the Fool”?

Gunji: My favourite song is “Salamander”.

Taka: I like “Japanese Jet Boyz”.

Goo: I like “Pray” best.

It is enclosed by the gotten flower, and my lovely child is [masu] with pleasure. 

Because a lot of people can love because the person was a loved child in [utaji], I think that it was a happy, happy life until the death. 

The message of the funeral and the encouragement is gotten from many fields, and it is borne in thanks and attention is not borne in everybody and the parties concerned all of you of the fan in which it assists for the blog and events. 

It was a child of the boast taught being able to run the mind, commuting of feelings, and becoming the matched relation even by the person and the rabbit. 

I was as glad as my thing, and it was always reported that the message and the letter were gotten addressed to [utaji]. 

I think that keep meal being always given, the room being cleaned for seven years or it not changing and the custom of life to live together and exchanged love being effective in my chest even if it changes of [sugatakatachi]. 

I think that I unconcernedly make this time can reunion in cat [moeji] and the heaven that became [nio] [hoshiyou] two and a half years ago as usual. 

Is if it is reborn some time and embraced those children closely, it a nature of my doting parent wishing so because it becomes it good that it cannot be?

Gunji is safe though it is terrible and lonely that one person is in the room put away as a cathedral.

[Utaji] means "Thank you" all being loved now. 

Thank you for everyone loving [utaji], and making my son's life colorful really really.

After that, I will take a rest from this blog only just a little a little. 

When the mind is rested a little, I want to spell the word energetically again. 

I think to the dear fan can get time only a little I am sorry by troubling the parties concerned all of you by me.

RIP Utaji

I'm sorry that everyone cannot write the blog. 

[Utaji] died this morning. 

After having held [utaji], it was hard two hours later in the death I.  held without understanding the cause after all

It is sudden an honest servant, being not able to arrange the mind, and without touching any. 

It doesn't actually feel that [utaji] still died or be unbelievable. 

I'm sorry for becoming a sad report. 

I thought that it was able to see the soul of [utaji] climbed the sky in chanting sutra though it held a service of [utaji] today. 

Tears did not stop so that "It was smile and existed" was said. 

I'm sorry for giving a jolt also to everyone who loves [utaji] by a sudden report. 

Because always a lot of people can love, I think that [utaji] was a happy life. 

Everyone also sees off [utaji] with a smile. 

The instore event and live of tomorrow's the fool must be done according to schedule, and everyone must come. 

When time can be gotten a little more, it is glad whether I can participate. 

Think that it is necessary to turn ahead for [utaji] though apologize of it is not possible to declare. 

Everyone also thinks of [utaji] please tonight.

THE FOOL

Following the terrible natural disaster in Japan, the Fool was in shock! "Long was uncertain whether our relatives who survived the earthquake zone, I could not reach my parents for days." reveals Gunji.

                  "We then retreated to the studio. That was the best therapy."

It led to new tracks.

With driving beats and punk-speed riffs fight The Fool (founded in 2009 in Tokyo) now handle against demons, the terrible events in her songs.Their new power-Single "Circus" there since 25.05. for download on their webside, an album is being planned.

About The Fool

The fool is an Electro-punk three-piece band from Japan that formed in 2009.

Members include:

They started their career with their first live in Meguro, Tokyo on April 29th, 2009. Their debut maxi-single Hydra came out several months later on September 30th. Soon after they started on the LIVE Tour’09~Go with Crazy’s crew~ tour which ended with a tour finale on December 18th, again in Meguro.

In early 2010, the fool took part on the omnibus album Secret 9BALL with the song GOD BLESS YOU and participated in promotional events for the omnibus release in Shinjuku, Osaka and Nagoya. On April 29th the band celebrated their first anniversary – with a concert in Meguro, where their career started. In May they released their second maxi-single, Go — their first release under the new label Starwave Records.

Once again, the fool started touring through clubs and live houses with their LIVE tour 2010 ~ a GO GO~. The tour final was named Perfect, born from TOKYO and was held in Meguro on July 2nd.

Beginning at the end of July, the young band played two lives in Europe—in Germany and the Netherlands—together with label mates. Their first attempt to play in Greece failed due to organizational issues. However, the two scheduled shows successfully had a chance to show themselves to European audiences.

2010 brings their 3rd Maxi single release [Salamander] on sale April 6th 2011

After wrapping up a successful world tour spanning six countries – Germany, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Russia and Mexico – the fool is finally ready to drop their long-awaited 3rd single!!

The tunes in this variety-packed lineup are created in a flexible style that can’t be confined to any one genre. From the characteristically upbeat [Salamander], to the melody-oriented [ONE BODY ONE HEART], to the track [Yume de Aetara] dedicated to all the fans, this single could be called a challenge toward breaking into a whole new realm of the fool. Including a remix of the title track called [Salamander CrAzY BeAsTy ReMix], the single will include 4 tracks.
